Records of a more confidential nature, especially about persons still living, are usually closed. Most documents in the College’s archives are generally available for inspection, if they are in a good enough condition. The Archives of University College are usually open, by appointment only, on Mondays and Tuesdays from 10.00-1.00 and 2.00-4.30. The Archivist is willing to answer simple enquiries about the archives himself by post or e-mail (Robin Darwall-Smith E: If, however, the enquiry looks like being a long one, then he will advise searchers to visit the Archives themselves. Researchers are welcome to arrange to visit University College to consult documents in the archives. However, we ask that, at least for the time being, we receive only one visitor at a time (no couples), and that all visitors wear masks in the archives. Visits will once again be by appointment only. Note: We are pleased to announce that the College Archives will reopen to visitors from Monday 5 July, at the usual opening times.
